Getting started with Split-Flap TV
Split-Flap TV turns a TV you already own into a vintage split-flap (Solari) board you control from your phone. Here's the whole journey, from sign-up to a board flipping on your screen in about five minutes.
There are two sides to Split-Flap TV: the app on your TV device (a Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Android TV or Chromecast) that displays the board, and the web control panel you open on your phone, tablet or laptop to write and manage your boards. Once the app is signed in, everything you change in the control panel appears on the screen in seconds.
You don't need any special hardware or an installer. If your TV can run apps, or you can plug a cheap streaming stick into it, you can run Split-Flap TV. A single subscription covers one screen; add a subscription for each extra TV you want to run.

Start your free trial
Create your account and start the free 7-day trial (no card required). This gives you a login for the control panel and the TV app.

Install the app on your TV device
Install Split-Flap TV on your Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Android TV or Chromecast. See the per-device guides in the Devices section for the exact steps.

Sign in / pair the device
Open the app on the TV and sign in, or enter the pairing code it shows into your control panel so the TV is linked to your account.

Create your first board
In the control panel, choose New board, type your message or menu, pick a layout, and assign it to your screen.

Save and watch it flip
Hit save and the board flips into place on your TV within a few seconds. Change it any time from your phone.
- ·Keep the app open on the TV, it needs to stay running for the board to show. Most devices will stay on the app until you close it.
- ·The control panel works from any browser, so staff can update the board from their own phone without touching the TV.
- ·You can create as many boards as you like and cycle through them in a loop, or schedule them by time of day.
Troubleshooting
My board isn't showing on the TV
Check the TV device is signed in to the same account, that the app is open (not minimised), and that the TV has an internet connection. Re-open the app if the screen looks stuck.
How many screens does one subscription cover?
One subscription runs one television or tablet. To run a second screen, add another subscription, volume discounts are available for multiple screens.
